    On June 15, the W_net LINC Phoenix chapter participated in a morning of community service, helping improve conditions for their 2015 community partner, Concordia Charter School. LINC Phoenix spent the morning at the school cleaning, assembling shelving and organizing the 6th grade "clubhouse". TSYS team members Patty V, Lisa L and Susan S, along with Susan’s son Griffin, joined other LINC members from around the Phoenix area for this event. Concordia was very grateful for their help.

Team Member Education (TME) provides professional training through classes focused on a variety of skills and work-related topics necessary to be successful at TSYS. Courses are available in a variety of media, including classroom, video and e-learning. Once on the job, team members can enroll in TME courses to acquire, maintain and optimize their skills throughout every career stage.

Tuition Assitance

The Tuition Assistance Program provides the opportunity for team members to pursue their higher-education goals with financial assistance from TSYS. Team members who satisfy a program’s requirements can receive up to 100 percent of tuition expenses.

    I worked at TSYS full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Great industry, cutting edge IT programming and software. Benefits and Compensation are above average. Management is available and listening. Safe place to be in downturn.

    Cons

    There are very tight monthly close accounting schedules. The IT staff is slow in responding. Very rapid change in the innovation department. There are very high turnover rates, and minimal training.

    Advice to Management

    The management here was as responsive as they could be. The corporate office in Augusta probably needed to provide more tools for success in the account files processed. They at least showed interest in finding solutions to problems. Stay close to the workforce.

    Application

    I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at TSYS in July 2015.

    Interview

    I was initially contacted by a recruiter to set up the interview time for a phone screen. I was then contacted by the manager along with 2 of his team members for a phone screen. Asked me some basic C# and questions on IIS. After that I was scheduled for an in person interview with the manager and his team. The panel consisted of 8 members (BAs, Developers, Testers etc.). I expected it to be a lot technical, but it was completely behavioral to my surprise. Though there were some technical questions on C# and about the Agile process.
