Tacit Knowledge – Why Work For Us?

Tacit Knowledge is a digital consultancy with roots in Silicon Valley.  Founded on the premise that talent and experience are key factors in project success, our approach has been to build a global team of highly vetted technologists that specialize in e-commerce.

Tacit Knowledge leverages Silicon Valley innovations to solve scaling and throughput issues prevalent in eCommerce solutions.

The result is in stark contrast to large agencies that scale with newly minted professionals and unpredictable outcomes.

Tacit Knowledge doesn’t offer a myriad of services or attempt to be all things to all people. We operate exclusively at the union of high tech and commerce. This relentless focus on consultative engineering and a core competency within a chosen vertical is our advantage.

Quality software is a reflection of the people who create it. That’s why our clients call us and why we believe that good consulting engineers are hard to find and worth waiting for. Our teams work together to innovate and

Our employees value continuous improvement, collaboration, humor and their weekends. The work itself? Digital commerce is nascent, and we have the opportunity to define its future state. We’re doing this right now by working with industry-defining clients, creating patent-pending mobile technologies, building affiliate-oriented social networks and using Silicon Valley open-source like Cassandra, Hadoop, and MongoDB to enable high-scale commerce.

New York

Our Fifth Avenue office is located in heart of NYC, steps away from the Empire State Building.

That’s a fifteen-minute walk to Grand Central Station, ten minutes to Penn Station, and about five minutes to gastronomical nirvana.

Aside from creating some of the best software outside of Silicon Valley, you’ll often find the NYC team battling each other with Nerf weapons and outdoing one another’s puns. New York positions >>

Our office is home to just over twenty employees, including Project Managers, Software Engineers, Web Developers,

Six years old and recently relocated to Le Roi International Business Center in downtown nearby the Parliament and Stefan cel Mare Park, our office in Chisinau is just shy of thirty people utilizing multiple technologies and programming languages.

I have been working at Tacit Knowledge full-time (Less than a year)

Opportunity for learning new things and furthering career growth is endless. The projects stay within a similar technical realm, but each poses a unique challenge. Very flat organizational structure and transparent leadership. Excellent co-workers around the globe. All competent, cooperative, and supportive. Very trusting and respectful environment. Feedback is direct and immediate.

Going through some typical acquisition growing pains and changes.

    Advice to Management

Continue being transparent and communicative about company vision and mission.

I applied online. I interviewed at Tacit Knowledge (New York, NY) in August 2015.

I applied online, then HR called. HR took interview for one day, HR person didn't had enough time as they asked so many questions and interview went over hr, so i was told to do another HR interview next day. I did that and my info was pass to director. After a week Director called, he seems to be nice person, understood what i bring on table and where i am coming from and despite that he looked the potential in me and decided to bring me onsite for f2f. After a week i was called to come in and they booked flight ticket and a hotel to stay a night. Three steps interview 1. HR called for interview 2. Director (manager) called for interview 3. Face to face with the team

    Interview Questions

    • 1. General project management related questions 2. Asked me my knowledge in ecommerce 3. how to manage team/clients 4. During face to face, I was asked very similar questions. However the team was very young to conduct this kind of interview in my opinion. As i could see the atleast two of the members who took interviews they are just following some direction given to them about what kind of questions they need to ask. One of the question was very poor kind of question, the interviewer brought an email conversation between two people and asked me to interpret. There could be thousands possibility of that email. Without knowing entire email chain you can predict. For face to face, the company spend some money to fly me in and put me in a hotel nearby. It took about a week for them to decide after interview to reply me back that i they will pass on my candidacy. I asked the feedback as i was very confident on my responses and what i bring on table with my experience but no feedback. The process was ok, in my opinion, i didn't get a chance to meet the manager. Without meeting the manager the young members on a team just decided to pass upon me. I believe that was not a good decision. Just FYI.. all the pictures on glassdoor are from other office. As NY office is very small.   Answer Question
