Our Company

Talbots is a multi-channel retailer of women's classic apparel, shoes and accessories. We're known for providing gracious service and a quality selection of timeless wardrobe essentials designed to fit women of all shapes and sizes.

Our Heritage

In 1947, Nancy and Rudolph Talbot opened their first shop in Hingham, Mass. a quaint New England town not far from Boston. They were entrepreneurs - eager to learn with keen vision for what their customers wanted.  Their business quickly became became known as “the store with the red door” and a go-to destination for classic style, great color, impeccable tailoring and personalized service. In 1948, they launched their direct mail business by distributing 3,000 black-and-white fliers to names obtained from The New Yorker magazine. Today, there are more than 500 Talbots stores throughout the U.S. and Canada with catalogs and an e-commerce site reaching a vast audience of loyal customers around the world.

    Pros

    The customer's are absolutely amazing!!! I truly get to make friends everyday. It's a low stress and very fun environment to work in. We make our goals by building meaningful relationships with people. That's what the company believes in, ensuring they have happy customers and happy associates. The team here is great. Leading them feels exciting and they step up to any challenge with curiosity and passion. The senior leadership (dm&rm) is inspiring and empathetic.

    Cons

    I can't think of any real cons. The company is making so many huge changes in technology to elevate her shopping experience. They are truly keeping up with trends in technology.

    Advice to Management

    Continue to elevate her experience because the customer (internal and external) is why we are here. Her/his emotionally attachment to the brand will decide our success.
