    TelePacific Communications announces the promotion of long-time industry leader Peter Berns to the newly created position of Director of Datacenter Operations. Berns had been the key technical subject matter expert for the provider's datacenter efforts. In his expanded role, he is responsible for all product strategy, pricing, sales support and data center operations, which includes service delivery and post installation support for this rapidly growing core area of TelePacific's business.

    Application

    I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1+ weekinterviewed at TelePacific Communications (Saint Louis, MO) in June 2015.

    Interview

    Phone interview with recruiter went well. Set up in person with hiring manager. Upon arrival, manager took me to a conference room & sent in two supervisors to do the interview. Everything went great - good information on company & position, challenges they face, direction they are going. Never talked to hiring manager other than general introductions. Received an offer through the recruiter. Research showed their offer was low, so I felt negotiating was in order. They were not willing to negotiate on anything. Given that they are already saving a ton of money by doing their Provisioning in the Midwest instead of the West Coast where they are Headquartered, one would think they would be willing to pay industry wages for this area. It was a great fit for my experience and their need, but it ended up being a disappointing experience.
