Former Employee - GENERAL SALES MANAGER in Yorkton, SK (Canada)

I worked at The Brick full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Generous commission structure, if you know how you're paid you can do very well. I had the best Director of Stores ever, he's so good at what he does. I learned so much from him.
Managers are encouraged to come up with their own ideas to improve sales, and are given much autonomy in their own stores to do so, within reason.

    Cons

Just the usual- office politics that are everywhere. I wound up quitting due to the antics of an incompetent manager. If not for him, I would have happily stayed and be making $100,000 + per year.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Keep up the good work.

    Interview Details

Job fair. They hire in bunches and the interviews are generally quick. Different managers and supervisors will be doing the interviews so they are generally never the same. They want to know your experience but are more concerned about you having a level head. Security/background checks are a must. Be friendly and sell a hard work ethic. Its a fast paced place, you have to keep up.
