I worked at The Clearing House

The Clearing House recently suffered from a management structure which was not in touch with the current business environment or technology. With the change of CEO's the company took a step in the right direction with some vision to the future and a foot in the right direction to fix many of the inadequacies the company had. All new hires of TCH should fit into the new structure well as their role should be clearly understood.

The company went thru a reorganization and as with most companies this process was done by using consulting companies and an industry standard process, unfortunately the process was not capable of handling the complex web structure of TCH and lead to many mistakes. Most employees were given a new "role" without any consideration to their skill set or experience, but instead to a formulated ranking system which proved to be inefficient. This resulted in many employees being misaligned and key aspects of the company which needed to be fixed left untouched. TCH has the capability to prosper and develop and survive in the future, but some of the key aspects that need to be corrected have yet to be done and leaves TCH unnecessarily vulnerable. The employees who survived the layoff's have been off-loading and on-loading new responsibilities, and there new "Role" poorly thought out and inadequately defined.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop spending money on carpeting and creating a fog to hide the real company who's employee moral is dangerously low in a recovering market. You stand the chance of losing your most valuable employees for not caring about your employees, the one who actually make everything work.
