We are creative, knowledgeable, determined, authentic and trustworthy people determined to make a difference by working together for our purpose.
Our vision is to become a leading provider of solutions for acute and intensive care hospitals, specifically focused on improving health and economic outcomes of cardiovascular events, surgery and perioperative care and life-threatening infections.
The Medicines Company's educational platform is aligned to our ideation (purpose, vision, goals, capabilities and identity). This platform will facilitate our design choices and determine how we organize our learning and what activities we should develop or support in order to deliver a well-balanced portfolio of offerings that translate our knowledge to customers effectively.
The platform will comprise 4 building blocks that demand content be relevant, stimulating, fulfill an unmet educational need, and be delivered in a format that is accessible and understandable:
Fundamentals How do we understand epidemiology, etiology, mechanisms of disease, pharmacological science, statistics, clinical trials design, regulatory science, pharmacovigilance, outcomes research methods, policy drivers for healthcare worldwide etc.?
Technology choices How do we choose between one technology and another?
Process of care How should the process of care be organized to optimize outcomes relative to resource deployment?
Behaviors How do we promulgate the right behaviors among care givers (job executors) and others to optimize systems and outcomes.

I worked at The Medicines Company full-time (more than 8 years)Pros
I worked at MDCO from 2007 - 2015 and enjoyed the experience. I worked in technical development, manufacturing and supply chain. What I enjoyed most was the faith by the company in me to do what I was hired for as well as offering me opportunities to work outside of the direct areas of my job. Chaos is a good thing in this company, as it is fast paced and innovation that drives this. The innovation is the heartbeat of this company. The only reason I left this company was that I traveled 60 miles each way on a daily basis and after 8 years, it became difficult.Cons
Because MDCO is a small company, it manages its budgets very tight. In a fast passed innovative environment, sometimes the budget approval does not move as fast as the projects.Advice to ManagementAdvice
Listen more closely to the people in the trenches doing the heavy lifting. This is a comment i make knowing that ALL companies could do this better. My experience is that I had access to the president/CFO and was heard.RecommendsPositive OutlookNo opinion of CEO
