I worked at The Newport Group (Florida) full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Excellent hours, tons of PTO, good pay, annual raises and bonuses.

    Cons

Your bonus may be minimal since the department gets allocated a number of dollars - which the management wants to take a large chunk of for themselves. Tone at the top is unprofessional so there's a chance it may trickle down in your department, too. People constantly worry that they will be fired/laid off but it hasn't happened yet so I'm not sure if it's a legit worry or not. There was a recent merger or acquisition in 2014 - so this may be a more legit worry than before.

    Application

I applied through other source. I interviewed at The Newport Group (Florida).

    Interview

Meet with two senior managers at the firm. Questions for me, if you want to call it that, where more for me to ask them questions; i.e. interview them/the firm. Certainly a different type of interview. One manager most of the time answered with just yes or no answers. Could have been me and how I phrased my "interview" questions for them. However, the impression was I was wasting their time. Again, a different type of interview. My one piece of advice for the firm is that if the firm is not interested, have the courtesy to let applicants know this; I have never understood the silence/no response after an interview.
