I have been working at The University of Kansas Hospital full-time (More than a year)
KU has great opportunities for involvement and leadership advancement. They also offer amazing benefits. The majority of nurses and other medical staff I work with are very team oriented and helpful.
In the last year KU has started cutting back on cost in order to prepare for a cut in medicaid/medicare funding. This has resulted in cuts to night shift differential, PTO time, as well as a decline in medical supply quality. Parking is also a problem. Staff has to park fairly far away from campus. There is a shuttle that will bus staff to the entrance, but it only operates during day shift. Nigh shift staff has to walk from parking garages, and recently there have been some robberies that have involved staff members.

I applied in-person. I interviewed at The University of Kansas Hospital (Kansas City, KS).
Lengthy process. Waited more than four weeks to hear anything from initial application. Met with panel of managers and staff. Very nice. Unfortunately, no feed back after that from HR. They need to update their website once position is filled.
