Good salary & decent benefits. Outings are fun. Some opportunity for growth and development.
Some co-workers & upper management will treat you well & respectfully; unfortunately others will not.
Long hours, tight (sometimes unrealistic) timelines. Depending on employee, work schedule & demands will vary; some managers have "favorites".
Advice to Management
Pay attention to morale and how departments are managed. Stop paying attention to strategy of competitors & innovate within & strategize better. Prioritize, prioritize.

I applied online. The process took 2+ weeks – interviewed at Thoratec Corp (Pleasanton, CA) in August 2014.
Initial phone interview with HR, followed by hiring manager. Two follow-up rounds in-person. First one to meet with managers and directors in marketing followed by a meeting with VP. Very smart team. Questions included 5 yrs goal, long-term goal, walk me through your resume, weakness, strength, how would you define value proposition of Thoratec business
