Good company to work for, some chance for advancement if in the right department.

I worked at TowerStream full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Towerstream has a fun, casual atmosphere to work in. If you prove your work ethic, they have no issue being flexible when necessary, I was able to work from home on many occasions when my children were sick or if there were major weather issues (some departments are essential and have to report to work even in inclement weather). I was given the opportunity for a promotion to management that other companies may not have given me due to my lack of management experience which I am grateful for. Overall, my years (almost 7) at Towerstream were positive ones and I gained a ton of valuable experience which allowed me to move on to another management role.

    Cons

Every company has it's own dysfunctions to deal with, Towerstream's is not figuring out the smartest, most efficient, and profitable way to achieve their goals before rolling out process changes or business shifts to the work force. Sometimes the new goals were not even communicated clearly so everyone could understand what their role was in achieving it.

Compensation is fairly low compared to the Fixed Wireless business in other markets, I think this is basically due to where the office is located geographically (Aquidneck Island). The ability to make monthly bonuses definitely makes up for the lack in base pay but they can be difficult to achieve. There has been a high turn over rate in the last 2-3 years and I'm fairly certain compensation plays it's role in that rate.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Plan ahead, engage key departments in planning of how to make new processes and shifts in business work. Have meetings to understand everyone's challenges and work together to figure out the solutions. Teamwork really needs improvement between the various departments.
