    Application Details

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 daysinterviewed at TracFone in May 2014.

    Interview Details

Obtained the interview as a contractor for TekPartners
Interview was a fairly short "get to know you" session with questions about my work history and how I would fit into the role.

If you are being hired on as a contractor you pretty much have the job if you get the interview.

The managers in the Project Management Office are generally too overwhelmed to really dig in at an interview. It's more important to just have a warm body to throw at the problem.

Interviewing for a full time employee position varies by manager. There isn't a standard process.

    Negotiation Details
TracFone gave a ridiculously low offer for my full time employee position - almost 20% less than market value for the position. I think this is partially because I am young but mostly because TracFone pays below market value for their non-executive employees.

I was told that I had to accept or decline the offer by a certain date. I instead sent a short email explaining that I required X amount for the position and explained why I was worth this amount. They came back with a new offer that was a few thousand less than X and I accepted.
