I have been working at Trillium Trading full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

No matter how hard you work, this job never feels like a job. I look forward to coming to the office every day. Trading here is a true meritocracy; what you earn is based completely on your performance. There are no politics. Our various in-house trading software products are upgraded constantly with input from traders, our training is second to none, and management supports the success of each and every trader. Traders work alongside each other, both teaching and challenging one another. Trading every day is fun, challenging and rewarding, as you strive to be the best. There's nowhere else I'd rather work.

    Cons

The learning curve has steepened the last few years, and the success rate isn't as high, so I tell new employees that while they can have the confidence that they're going to be the best trader Trillium has ever seen, they should plan for the worst, and manage their personal budget accordingly. You want to be able to stick it out for at least a year until you 'get it' without having to worry about affording the rent.

    Junior Trader Interview

    Application Details

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks - interviewed at Trillium Trading.

    Interview Details

Pretty basic Junior Trader interview. Expect a lot of questions about probability. The first questions were basic probability, the next two medium level questions were a little more advanced probability, and then the last two were a statistics question and a calculus question. The person interviewing me gave me immediate feedback and was very cool and polite. I stumbled on the calculus question and didn't get invited back for the second round interview.
