UC Irvine Health has also received the prestigious Magnet Recognition for nursing excellence, and earned re-designation as a Magnet hospital in 2013. In 2012, ours was named one of the best hospital information technology departments in which to work by Healthcare IT News, information technology’s largest online publication in the U.S.

California Sunshine

Orange County (popularly referred to as the “OC”) is a region of 3 million people situated halfway between Los Angeles and San Diego. When you picture quintessential California Living, this is where it happens!

We Live Outdoors

With more than 40 miles of coastline, sunny weather and palm trees galore, residents spend a lot of time outside. The surfing capital of the area, Huntington Beach has earned the nickname “Surf City.” Inspired by surfing culture, skateboarding is also a popular activity.  Other outdoor pursuits including hiking, biking, canoeing, fishing and boating are plentiful, and can be enjoyed any time of the year, thanks to the mild climate Californians enjoy.

We Have Culture

If you’re a sports enthusiast, Orange County boasts two major league teams: the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, who make regular post-season appearances, and the Anaheim Ducks, who won the Stanley Cup in 2007. Cultural pursuits such as live theater, a symphony orchestra, opera and rock concerts are regularly available in Orange County, as well.

The county has a robust public transportation system, and John Wayne International Airport serves Orange County residents.

We Are Fun

World-famous amusement parks located in Orange County include Disneyland and Knott’s Berry Farm. Weekend getaway locales are never far from reach: Catalina Island, Palm Springs and Las Vegas are just a few hours away.

When you live in the OC, another adventure is always around the corner!

I worked at UC Irvine Health

Everyone that I worked with treated me like a friend. After my time there, I left feeling like I had gained quite a few mentors.

Not always the most organized, pay did not meet my needs. There wasn't much opportunity for advancement either. I was always selected for special projects, but none of them resulted in anything permanent.
