I really grew at the UA, and had an almost universally positive experience with my colleagues and depts. like HR and IT.

    Pros

Collaborative environment, even across departments, where most people are more concerned with doing the work than personal prestige or ego. Most people are focused on the university mission. Good benefits, too.

    Cons

The salaries are generally pretty low, when compared to comparable titles elsewhere. Experience isn't valued as highly as degrees. Budget issues sometimes limited professional development opportunities.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep and incentivize an open line of communication and understanding between the staff and faculty tiers of your employees.
