The history and reputation of the university give it a great gravitational pull, so you will literally work and study with excellent people from around the world. It is located in a beautiful town, near to London, with a high quality of life.
The history and culture is have a lot of inertia, and most administrative decisions are made based on precedent. The complex interactions between colleges and departments, and the lack of a clear central authority, make for a diverse range of climates. None of these are "cons," per se, but they are important characteristic of the culture.

I applied online – interviewed at University of Cambridge in September 2013.
Applied through email. Recommend checking the website jobs.cam.ac.uk. Got back to me for an interview a 7-10 days post the submission deadline. Interview was then 14 days after.
Panel of interviewers. Questions ranged from detailed questions about the post, specifics on my CV, what I would do in different scenarios with demanding clients, ability to reply quickly to emails, and future goals.
