I worked at University of Louisville full-time (more than an year)

They are flexible and understanding of schedule conflicts - particular with employees who have children. The work-life balance is great. The people in my office are great to work with, very personable, and they make work fun. The University is a huge part of the community, and are making efforts to expand interactions with outside companies.

There is definite distinction between different departments, many of which have morale issues. There is also a lack of communication from the top down, so restructuring becomes stressful for all employees because they don't know what to expect.

I found out about the position on the day the application was due. I was very qualified for the position and had a recommendation from the person in charge of making the hiring decision. I filled out the application and received notification that I had received the job a few weeks later. There was no interview. It was a quick and easy process.

Like the original, this Louisville Slugger has hit a few out of the park. Living up to its mandate by the Kentucky General Assembly to be a "preeminent metropolitan research university," the University of Louisville (U of L) is home to the first self-contained artificial heart implant and the first successful hand transplant. A major focus of U of L is health care, and the University of Louisville Hospital is a part of the school's medical program. U of L offers associate, baccalaureate, master's, professional, and doctorate degrees in some 170 fields of study. It has more... More
