    Pros

The pay isn't fantastic, but it's decent for a GRA in the engineering dept (based on word of mouth from TA/GRAs in other departments). Tuition coverage and health insurance make it even more worthwhile - plus, you get paid to go to school and do research!

    Cons

It's pretty meager if you don't supplement with a summer internship or something similar. No way to really negotiate the rate either; it's set via the department.

I applied through an employee referral – interviewed at University of New Mexico.

    Interview

Ask programming skill in SQL and understand basic statistics. Need to be a student at UNM.
How many hours can you worked here? (hour salary) paid insurance and intuition. It is very good interview experience. Must be very aggressive and commitment for this position. Need to attend meeting if possible.
