I worked at University of South Dakota full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Being a state employee there are great benefits and lots of time off (holidays and vacation). There are plenty of opportunities for advancement. Co-workers are educated and easy to work with.

    Cons

There are lots of policies and procedures and at times can be bureaucratic. Also, like with any job, there are office politics to deal with.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Reduce the number of employees that are involved with interviewing. The process is time consuming and could be much more effective if done differently.
