I have been working at University of Southern Nevada

    Pros

Very new, nice looking campus, offices, supplies and classrooms. There is no tenure system and the university is privately owned. The university's philosophy is student-focused and the curriculum is cutting edge using a Block System. If you are in the Pharmacy program life is good because of the good leadership.

    Cons

The College of Nursing - Dean and Assistant Dean provide incompetent leadership. Therefore, some faculty are hard working and dedicated to the school's success but some faculty are incompent and do not contribute. Some faculty are favored over others and get treated better than the others. This situation is incredibly frustrating to those who are great teachers and hard workers, but not rewarded. Otherwise it could be a great place to work and the program a huge success.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The President needs to know about the faculty's job dissatisfaction in the College of Nursing and fix it. Most are looking for other jobs so they can quit. Senior management needs to have some face to face interaction with the nursing faculty and get in touch.
