    Pros

UDC plays an important role in serving students in the DMV area who may not otherwise have ready access to a 4-year or advanced degree. The students are very inspiring and hard working, and motivated our team in Academic Affairs

    Cons

Like any university, there is some silo-ing of units across Student Affairs/Academic Affairs, and across schools/departments. In general, the staff are very welcoming but there were considerable tensions between the faculty senate and the administration at the time. There has since been a transition in the executive leadership, so this may perhaps be resolved now

    Advice to Management

Invest in student support services as the students do need many types of scaffolding to persist through

    Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 5 daysinterviewed at University of the District of Columbia.

    Interview

In the world of University Education, I am not sure what the normal procedures are. I was recommended and hired for the job with no real interview or meeting of HR. However, this is on the adjunct level. Associate and above may be quite different. In my case knowing someone was my foot in the door.

    Interview Questions

    • There were no questions except what days on the schedule would you like.   Answer Question

    Negotiation

There is not one. This is what our adjunct professors make. Period.
