    Pros

Great company to work for. Lots of benefits and they pay well too as compared to other credit unions.

    Cons

Its difficult to move up to a role at head office if you work in the branch.

    Advice to Management

keep up the good work, but allow employees to cross train at the head office too.

    Application

I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Vancity (Vancouver, BC (Canada)) in March 2015.

    Interview

First, I applied through online. 4 business days later, I got a phone call for phone interview set up. The next day, I had 30 minutes long phone call interview. Interviewer asked about 15 questions related my characteristic, job aptitude, and values to see if how it will be aligned with company's goal and values. Interviewer wrote down every answers that I provided. 2 days later, I had face-to-face interview at one of the Vancity location. There were 2 interviewers and they explained what kinds of role and responsibilities would be given to me before I asked me questions. This time, they asked me more like previous job experience related to the position such as "how did you handle difficult customers?, how did you meet sales target?, if you have different opinions with your supervisor, how would you react?" even asked me "Do you volunteer?" to see my value system. Interview went smooth even though I wasn't hired because I was under the situation of my school practicum. However, it was great experience.
