Transforming Health Care
Why We Exist
We strive to create sustainable models for healthcare through data-driven performance improvements in healthcare. We help organizations identify, manage and mitigate healthcare risk to improve quality, reduce costs and maximize profitability. In a world of questions about how to optimize the healthcare system, Verisk Health is at the forefront of developing answers.
What We Think About
Evolving market needs. New technologies. Public policy. Healthcare reform. Customer service. Building an
amazing business. It’s the kind of place where people actually stay up at night solving customer challenges. Our thought leaders publish on a range of topics, from the future of healthcare to prospective risk analysis to improving patient care through analysis of clinical data. We constantly challenge ourselves to solve problems and apply solutions.
What We Do
The word “healthcare” conjures images of a large and complex domain. Yet, we serve the needs of a specific group of organizations: the health plans that are paying for care; the providers that deliver care; and the employers who are responsible for the health needs of their employees. We provide the technology and services that improve these entities within the healthcare system. Our data-driven risk assessment technologies, business decision analytics and unique services enable clients to proactively seize opportunities for improving clinical, financial, and performance results
Clinical Analyst, Team Lead, PCI
I joined Verisk Health almost a year ago with the largest single group of analysts hired at one time, to date. Together with my team of nurses, I am responsible for the day-to-day processing of claims and appeals for thirteen clients. I love coming to work every day. I feel like I am a part of a larger whole and at the same time what I do matters. Verisk hires quality people who are proud of the work they do and happy to do it. I originally applied on the recommendation of a friend even though I wasn’t looking for a new job at the time. I had been working as an RN for 14 years and as a C.N.A. for 6 years before that. The thought of doing something less physical after 20 years “on the floor” was appealing. Little did I know that I would love what I do far more than the floor work I was doing before. I’ll never forget the day my sister said to me “I can hear the happiness in your voice. This job is good for you.”
The training I have received to do my job has been above average and the resources I need to do my job are easily available or made available as the need arises. I have had the opportunity to become CPC certified and grow my skills in the coding arena. It’s exciting to work for a company that is invested in improving health care in our country by improving payment accuracy. I think my favorite thing about working here is knowing that I matter. I never feel dispensable or unimportant. I am proud of the work I do and tell everyone what a great place this is to work.

What is your role as Verisk Health?
Working with my team members we create, maintain, and verify the state sourced edits for our assigned states. Currently, I monitor the state Medicaid websites for any changes to their processes in the 4 states that I am assigned. I take the changes and ensure that they are implemented into our system for 10 clients that used the states Medicaid rules. We work together as a team to build the state sourced edits for new clients. I assist with computer support in the St. George office as needed.
What do you like about working at Verisk Health?
I love working for Verisk Health, the company values are great, they pay is decent. My coworkers are fun to be around and love how everyone works hard while creating a great working environment.
How would you describe the culture of the company?
The culture of this organization far exceeds any place of employment that I have had. I love the close family like feeling that we share. Everyone here loves to chat a moment with you about your hobbies, interests, how your day is going, etc..I love that they company is out to help the individual succeed and grow. It’s great to feel invested in.
What have you learned so far?
I have learned so much about the role of my job, I learn more each and every day. There is not a day that I don’t learn something about my job, myself, or the company. This is a great place for daily learning.
Business Analyst, Product Management
What do you do?
I am part of a team that is responsible for developing new products. I work with the product manager to understand market requirements that lead to a new product concept. I then take that concept, and gather business requirements, translate those requirements into application software solutions, and then test the solution before release to our clients.
What has been your experience at Verisk Health?
The two things I like most about working at Verisk Health are 1) the actual software and services we develop and 2) the diverse experts, roles, clients and industries that I come into contact with. The software we develop is really cool! I love playing with the tools and thinking of how clients are using them. Plus, the chance to work with experts and the exposure that I’m getting are invaluable, especially at this point in my career.
How would you describe the company?
It’s a melting pot of cultures, backgrounds, experience and expertise. It’s friendly but at the same time on-task.

Team at Verisk Health feels like family. On daily basis I am surrounded with individuals who care about their clients, their work, and their colleagues. For individuals who are willing to learn and who are determined to succeed, there are plenty of opportunities to advance and build their careers at Verisk Health. Leadership genuinely cares about the company and the employees.Cons
Because the company grew by acquisitions, we have had high turnover on all levels of the organization (leadership, middle management, individual contributors). With high turnover come different challenges, and one of those challenges is rebuilding the organization culture. This piece has been work in progress and something we need to focus on going forward.Advice to ManagementAdvice
