I have been working at Victorian Government full-time (more than 10 years)

As a non-profit organisation focused on emergency relief and assistance to persons in times of natural disaster, VICSES is an organisation to be proud of. The work tends to be challenging and rarely boring. In general, the managers listen to their team and are likely to implement suggestions. Regardless of the department, there tends to be a strong team spirit throughout.

Like with many low funded organisations, the pay will tend to be below the average and in some cases this means HR has had to compromise on quality when hiring for some positions. The machine still works, but some of the parts are worn out or the wrong size.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep listening to the bulk of the employees (rather than just the loudest ones). Most of the changes implemented over the last few years have had a very positive effect.
