I worked at WebMD Health full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Interesting programs, innovation, directly and peripherally helping people, strong company history and culture and name recognition. Good benefits and fair wage for the work done.

    Cons

The upper leadership (Director/VP) churn was IMMENSE. The average time they seemed to last was 8-10 months before moving to a new position. This constant churn led to a lot of uncertainty for underlings and a lack of coherent focus. It also meant you could have worked on an excellent project with strong results that was completely unrecognized by the next person who came in. Most employees have a constant fear of being fired due to the churn.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I would like to see a culture that embraced and encouraged long-term employment at WebMD. Instead, VPs and Directors seem to be passing through it like a stepping stone onto a greater goal. This makes it difficult to feel successful and valued at a job when the rules change every 8-10 months.

I went in for my first interview and met with the manager and her supervisor. The interview went well and I was contacted by HR the next day and asked to come in again. I went in and met with 4 more people. I felt confident with the interview and was told that I should be hearing back within the next week or two and that I was a strong candidate. I followed up a week later and was told that they were still on the first round of candidates but I should hear back within a week. I followed up again about a week and a half later and never heard back, so I tried one more time a week after that and never heard back again... Everyone asked the same questions: Why are you interested in the position, how do you keep yourself organized, etc.
