Wegmans Scholarships

The purpose of the Wegmans Scholarship Program is to encourage all employees to pursue their educational goals and to build a foundation for their future through strong work performance and high academic achievement.

We are proud of our contribution to the pursuit of academic achievement among our employees. Since the Scholarship Program made its first awards in 1984, Wegmans has assisted more than 24,000 employees, awarding more than $77 million in scholarships.

Competition for Wegmans Scholarships is open to every eligible Wegmans employee.

Hillside Work Scholarship Connection

In 1987, Wegmans founded the Wegmans Work Scholarship Connection to teach at risk youth the skills they need to succeed and help reduce the high school dropout rate in the Rochester City School district. Wegmans provides part-time employment and workplace mentors for these students needing additional support. Bakery Employee

Making a Difference:

• Approximately 80% of participating students graduate from high school compared to less than 50% for students not participating. To date, the program has helped more than 1000 young people get through school, get jobs, and, in many cases, go to college.
• There are currently more than 1200 students and numerous businesses throughout Rochester and Syracuse, NY actively participating in the program.

Store Operations

Everything we do impacts the people who shop in Wegmans stores — our core business. It's both challenging and rewarding to surpass customer expectations daily, with great service and helpful information on how to make great meals easy. Manufacturing and Distribution

We stage most behind-the-scenes distribution and management support for our stores from our offices and warehouses throughout Rochester, NY. From Distribution Center Operations and Transport Services to our Culinary Innovation Center and Central Bakeshop, Wegmans offers growth opportunities that span many fields, skills, and interests to current employees.

Corporate

We work behind the scenes, partnering with all areas of the company including Store Operations, Manufacturing, and Distribution facilities and act as a key component in helping these areas function. Our corporate offices are located in the Rochester, NY area and include such professional departments as Real Estate/Development, Controllers/ Finance, Human Resources, IT, Marketing/ Advertising and Merchandising.
