I was fortunate to have worked at WMC. The work was always challenging and the staff exceptional.

I worked at Westchester Medical Center full-time for more than 10 years

WMC provided ample opportunities for professional growth. They offered tuition for employees wanting to further their education within their related field. The salaries were competitive and the benefits were excellent. The hospital is located in a lovely area of Westchester which offered ample space for exercise. The staff was dedicated to patient care regardless of what their position was.

Outsourcing is a large problem at WMC. The union is slowly being disbanded as more and more positions are being filled by outside agencies .While the union is fighting to keep the jobs of its 500 members alive, the eventuality is that with each new contract more union positions will be transferred to agency positions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The staff works very hard to service patients to the best of our ability. There should be more recognition to those individuals hospital wide who have provided exemplary care.
