Why did you choose to work at Whirlpool Corporation?
I chose Whirlpool Corporation because I wanted to work for a global company that encompassed strong brands and created products that I could believe in and sell with confidence.
When my partner and I were exploring career opportunities a few years ago, one of the biggest factors in our decision came down to choosing a company who valued a diverse and inclusive environment. Whirlpool offers two consumer-driven health plan options, including a Health Savings Account and a Rewards Plan.

Employee and dependent life insurance, as well as accident insurance, are the central components of our protection plans. Short-term and long-term disability plans round out the program, keeping a paycheck coming if you become ill or injured and cannot work for an extended period of time.
We know employees who enjoy the right balance between work life and home life are more productive and effective in both places. That’s why we offer competitive vacation, paid holiday and personal leave policies. Benefits are generally based on years of service with the company. Students beginning their careers with Whirlpool won’t have summers off anymore, but they’ll still have time to pursue hobbies and enjoy time to themselves throughout the year.
Financial experts agree: the best way to be ready for the future is to start saving as soon as you can. Our 401(k) Savings Plan offers a tax-deferred method of setting money aside automatically each month. The company provides an automatic contribution of 3% of eligible pay each year, that may be paid in Whirlpool common stock. Whirlpool matches 100% of the first 3% of salary deferrals and 50% of the next 2%. These contributions are pre-tax, and earnings on the investments are tax deferred.
The Whirlpool retirement plan offers a variety of investment fund choices to give your savings earning power. What if you leave Whirlpool down the road? You take with you the full value of your contributions, the portion of Whirlpool contributions you own (based on years of service) and any earnings from all investments through the plan.

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Whirlpool (Knoxville, TN) in September 2015.
Phone interview first, asked basic information about resume. Asked where do you see yourself in 5 years? why Whirlpool? Why leaving current job? Strentghs weaknesses. if you get past the phone interview, then a face to face to scheduled. there were two interviews, back to back. the first interview was with three sales managers it lasted about an hour, then they left. aout five minutes later, two more managers came in and interviewed me for about an hour. I was told that they notify you either way. I was called about a week after the interview and offer the position.
- all of the questions were off of a script, but were mostly behavior based. Tell me about a time.... the questions were pretty basic, you could look over commonly asked behavior interview questions and have a good idea of what to expect. No trick questions. Come prepared with a few storys to tell based on your past jobs. htye mostly focus around Leadership, Teamwork, and Sales. Answer Question
