I have been working at Whiting Petroleum full-time (More than a year)
Relaxed working environment Excellent pay Free health and dental insurance Education reimbursement Interesting work Being a part of something special: Energy This is a great company to work for. Everyone has a heart for energy and many in the company have lived and breathed oil & gas for their entire career. Often times you will be in meetings with people that are much more intelligent than you and it's facinating to interact with them. Compensation is extremely generous for the work they ask you to perform and free health insurance is unheard of in today's economy. Granted, the building is very old and being in the center of downtown makes parking a nightmare.
Lack of internal communication during rocky times. Oil price is too low. Oil building. Parking sucks at downtown.
Advice to Management
Provide internal communication to employees when the rumor mill starts spinning. Move us to a better building away from downtown that has free parking!

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Whiting Petroleum (Denver, CO) in March 2015.
Very brief interview, they basically just wanted to know that I wasn't a complete total idiot who would mess things up. Other than that the interview process was very very very very very very easy
