    Pros

Widener has a lot of wonderful people working for it who are very dedicated to their jobs. President Harris is doing a herculean job of addressing many of the problems Widener faced when he first became President in 2003, and it is a much better institution after his 11 years as president. The job benefits are excellent.

    Cons

The economic downturn affected Widener significantly, as it did all institutions of higher education. Lack of money has hampered this institution in terms of operating funds and salaries, and this can be discouraging. This is partially made up for by the president's approach of highly valuing employees and their contributions. However, there always seems to be a lack of money to do some of the innovative projects that could happen at this university to make it a better place.
