New CEO brings great ideas, emphasis on the stores and a true customer focus, working to right-price our products, and getting everyone excited about the future. He solicited ideas and feedback from everyone in the company. He's holding senior management accountable for results. He's thumbing his nose to the old guard and getting rid of the barriers of politics and focusing on true teamwork. I'm all in. Love the direction we are going now!!!

Benefits could be better. They are expensive and do not cover as well as other programs I've been involved with.

Ian has been bullish on positive change and that is great but most of the middle management is a bit scared to say that they are having difficulty prioritizing their current workload with the requests for improvement in other areas promoted by Ian. I'm convinced everyone is afraid to say "I need more people or different systems or processes to meet your expectations in the timeframe you wish this to be accomplished." My guess is that if Ian was approached with solutions and justification for their objections to timing or priorities, he would appreciate that more than a blind "yes, we can do that". Chances are, that's what he is looking for in his senior managers. Tough spot for them but I have to believe integrity and honesty will win over anything else.

    Advice to Management

Be managers and manage your resources and priorities appropriately. Don't blindly accept work. Object smartly with alternatives. Show the new boss that you can think outside the box. He's showing you the way. He expects, for the money you're being paid, to think and act independently while focusing on the strategic goals and objectives. Stay true to your integrity and love for the customer and everything will work out.
