I have been with YES Prep for over 7 years. YES Prep is a place which believes in people. In my work on campuses and at the Home Office, I have seen firsthand YES Prep's commitment to providing feedback for growth for all members of the YES Prep family. If you wish you grow as a professional and as a person, YES Prep is the place for you. As a growing organization, there are multiple ways to innovate and contribute to the mission. YES Prep has challenged me, strengthened me, and valued me tremendously, and I cannot recommend it enough.
YES Prep is growing quickly. This means that there are many initiatives being piloted and many things happening. I value YES Prep's desire to make an impact, and I see YES beginning to pull back in terms of taking on too much.
Getting an Interview
Getting an Interview

I applied through college or university. The process took 5 weeks – interviewed at YES Preparatory Public Schools (Houston, TX) in April 2015.
I applied online for a position teaching English III & IV, and within a week was contacted for a phone interview. Due to scheduling availability I could not have a phone interview for about a week and half. The phone interview was scheduled on a Wednesday and then that Friday I was emailed by a campus director for quick phone interview. I then visited the campus for the first annual career fair that Saturday and met the school director. We scheduled my campus visit for my sample lesson for the following Thursday. My campus visit was really informative and welcoming. I loved every moment! The sample lesson went really well, and the kids were really receptive. I taught my sample lesson to ninth graders in English I. My behavioral interview lasted an hour or so and was very straightforward and followed a lot of the original essay questions. I was then told they would contact me within two week, and they offered me the job teaching AP English III & IV thirteen days later.
