I have been working at YRC Freight full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Best job I ever had in trucking industry

    Cons

People complain about the job meanwhile it's the best on soooo many levels compared to other driving gigs with the exception of maybe UPS and UPS micro manages YRC doesn't so it's a toss up,it brings morale down...most of the older drivers that complain about the company don't realize even though the past few years they had a wage concession, many other company's went through the same thing, and now the company is starting to turn around and these guys still complain meanwhile most couldn't even hold a job at McDonald's if they ever left YRC it's amazing they should be thanking their lucky stars YRC IS still in business and now that it's doing much better financially the only way to get the wages back up is to come in to work and actually WORK, but some people ( older bad attitude drivers) can't be cured of stupid I guess

    Advice to Management

Start firing all the older drivers who complain and make the union look bad

    Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at YRC Freight (Phoenix, AZ) in June 2015.

    Interview

The process was hard very basic questioning. just make sure you do you history on the company and come with a game plan. Very friendly and formal interview process. Hiring manager asked about different experiences and relocation process. I felt it was on of the smoothest interview I have ever encountered
