Former Employee - Dock Supervisor in Charlotte, NC

I worked at Yellow Transportation full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Learned to be very accountable for my own personal work ethic. There was a great focus on providing a quality service for the customer. The pay was excellent.

    Cons

Opportunities for advancement were very political and based more upon tenure than merit.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Periodically transfer in new managers to larger facilities so that clique membership doesn't interfere with the growth of you employees.

(LTL carriers combine freight from multiple shippers into a single trailer.) Yellow Transportation and Roadway constitute YRC Worldwide's national transportation segment.
