Yodle was founded in March 2005 by Nathaniel Stevens who, at the time, was managing online marketing for his father’s car dealership in New Haven, CT, while still a student at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School. Nathaniel realized that there was a better way for small businesses to connect with consumers than the antiquated techniques business owners were then using.
After winning a business plan competition and gaining some initial funding, Nathaniel teamed up with childhood friends Ben Rubenstein and John Berkowitz, as well as one of his professors at Wharton, Dr. Kartik Hosanagar, and Milind Mehere, to build the business. From humble beginnings – working late into the night out of shared office spaces and cramped apartments – Yodle has gone on to achieve astronomical growth.
Today, Yodle is offering comprehensive, integrated and easy-to-use local online marketing solutions to 50,000+ small businesses across the U.S. Yodle employs 1,300+ talented individuals in five offices – New York, NY; Atlanta, GA; Austin, TX; Charlotte, NC; and Scottsdale, AZ. This success has happened under the leadership of Court Cunningham who was hired as CEO and the company’s 11th employee in early 2007.
One of the biggest reasons for Yodle's success is the people that work here. Read these Yodle reviews and testimonials from our staff across different departments and offices to learn what they most enjoy about working at the company.

Yodle CEO Court Cunningham talks to Bloomberg TV about the local online marketing space and Yodle’s growth.
Meet the young entrepreneurs who’re fixing the economy and creating jobs. Top Empact-honored job-creator Yodle handles local Internet marketing from its New York City headquarters, and its employee numbers are soaring.
A lot of people go after the small business market, but can’t do it. It’s a hard problem to solve, but Yodle is super metrics-driven. They know the levers of this business.
Yodle has hidden the complexity and minimized the SMB education the sales reps need to do in order to close. Dare I say it . . . but Yodle may have “cracked the code” with its new more integrated product and sales approach.
Yodle CEO Court Cunningham was in town to meet with employees, Scottsdale mayor Jim Lane and the Phoenix Business Journal to discuss the company’s rapid growth since its inception eight years ago. “It was a great conversation with a company that’s on the move and growing,” said Lane. “It’s noted as one of the fastest growing entrepreneurial technology companies in the country.”

I have been working at Yodle full-time (Less than a year)
Tons of perks, and work incentives, and holy COW so much money to be made.
It's a job cold-calling, which is not notoriously fun to do.
Advice to Management
Keep being awesome. If you wanted to bump base salary, that'd be pretty cool, but honestly, the commission percentages already rock.
Getting an Interview
Getting an Interview
- Accepted OfferPositive ExperienceAverage Interview
Found an ad for a sales representative position on Linkedin. Applied on their company website which included submitting a resume; wasn't required to send a cover letter which was great. Received a phone call from a recruiter about a week later and we set up a phone interview. Phone interview was very easy - super laid back, no difficult questions and mostly just information about the position. I was called the next day from the recruiter and we scheduled an in person interview where I would shadow a sales rep then speak with one of the directors of sales. Showed up to the office which was very nice then I was pointed to an empty seat next to a sales rep and shadowed her for about 20 minutes - got a feel for what I would be doing. From there I sat with a director of sales and he asked a lot of personality questions, nothing too difficult but definitely be prepared. I thought the interview was very informative. The next day I was given a job offer and accepted it.
