I worked at Youth Advocate Programs as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great staff, felt like a family especially after you've been working there for a while. Very supportive and gets you right in the door with experience working with individuals with disabilities and integrating them into the local community.

    Cons

The program itself has a lack of funding and you really have to work hard to make a steady income. The driving between clients and being punctual can be difficult and unrealistic at times.

    Advice to Management

Be understanding about traveling and traffic.

    Application

I applied online – interviewed at Youth Advocate Programs (Martinsburg, WV) in June 2013.

    Interview

Came into to a job fair here. Interviewed concurrently by 2 people. Very personable. Answered all my questions.

I am concerned abou the pay (based on reviews from this site). I cannot afford to take the position if my gasoline will not be compensated.

Lastly, I was bummed out that the background check would cost me $30 bucks out of my own pocket.
