ZF TRW – Why Work For Us?

In 2015, TRW Automotive was acquired by global automobile supplier ZF Friedrichshafen AG. ZF TRW is now a division of the parent company, with headquarters in Livonia, Michigan.

ZF TRW is a primary developer and producer of active and passive safety systems and serves all major vehicle manufacturers worldwide with an established footprint that includes facilities in more than 20 countries. It maintains 22 technical centers and 13 test tracks in vital markets around the world.

ZF TRW’s safety solutions take in detailed environmental information to calculate intelligent ways to assist drivers and help protect occupants and other road users. We call this Cognitive Safety. In the categories of Advanced, Smart and Green Thinking, ZF TRW is taking safety to the next level:

Advanced Thinking – ZF TRW has strong and deep experience across each of the key technologies required to deliver high level vehicle safety functions – including the critical building blocks of sensors, controllers and actuators. These technologies enable semi-automated driving systems. ZF TRW will continue on the road to automated driving using a measured approach that yields enhanced safety, convenience and comfort.

Smart Thinking – ZF TRW seeks to deliver advanced, affordable safety systems across all markets. ZF TRW’s low-cost, scalable technologies provide enhanced value – from high-end luxury platforms to family segments and the growing demand for small cars around the world.

Green Thinking – As global regulations promote the dual goals of reducing harmful emissions and enhancing road safety, ZF TRW technologies are delivering on both fronts. ZF TRW solutions support the drive to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and the growing desire of manufacturers to increase fuel efficiency. And as vehicles become smaller, crash avoidance active safety technologies are being mandated to help enhance the safety of these vehicles.

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took a weekinterviewed at ZF TRW.

    Interview

2.5 hours. Initially with the direct supervisor and then with team members separately. The first one hour was technical. I was asked to explain about an assembly process with part in hand to test my basic engineering knowledge. The group interview with team members were completely behavioral.
