Aaron Acosta, Software Engineer
I've been working at Zazzle for a year on the engineering team. What I love the most about working here is a combination of two things: 1) the engineering team. They are helpful, non-judgmental, extremely intelligent, funny people to be around and work with, and I learn every day from them. 2) I get to work on meaningful projects. The company is not a small startup anymore, but it's still small enough that anyone who is part of the engineering team gets to work on something that has a great impact and is usually really cool. When I was initially job-hunting, my final choice was between Microsoft and Zazzle, and I chose to work at Zazzle because of the opportunity to make a huge difference, which I feel I've been able to do.
Lisa Nakano, User Interface Engineer
Zazzle is great! My favorite aspect of Zazzle is the people. Everyone I work with is really friendly and super-smart. It’s a great environment for collaboration and fostering new ideas. Plus, they let us get a robot. What engineer wouldn’t want to tinker with a robot?
Young Harvill, Senior Engineer
One of the key reasons to be at Zazzle is that we get to work with really smart people who understand things without explaining all of the tech underpinnings. Although this seems like an obvious thing that should just be the case in a Tech company, it turns out to be a rare, wonderful thing. Another cool thing about Zazzle it that we have of users creating things in all kinds of ways. Really very many ways. When I write code and it is placed in this huge flow of creativity, I get to learn a tremendous amount about just how useful my code is and how well it was crafted. This is a very cool space to be if you are an engineer/entrepreneur.
Kaezel Sangil, Product Merchandiser
Working at Zazzle is an absolute treat! Having such a cross-functional role makes everyday a great learning experience and gives me confidence that I am amongst brilliant and passionate people. Everyday here is always something new, whether it's launching new products or discovering new designers with awesome talent. I've always been a creative nut and it's very exciting to be a part of a company that fuels creativity!
Jason Li, Senior Software Engineer Manager
There is a very talented and creative group of people working here at Zazzle. The environment is very collegial and open. Spontaneous discussions on site feature improvements happen on almost a daily basis. People take personal pride over aspects of Zazzle they helped build. The organizational structure is very flat. Anyone in the company is very approachable and be willing to have candid discussions about Zazzle’s users’ needs and company roadmaps. I love working at Zazzle because it is a friendly environment. I love working at Zazzle’s engineering team in particular because we have held a very high standard to building a top notch team. I love working at Zazzle because we are building towards the future of commerce for customized products. We are changing the world in a very tangible way.
Matthew Dunn, Senior Photographer
I love working at Zazzle for so many reasons but mostly because it’s a place to make your vision a reality. Whether you are a designer creating on our platform or an employee working at HQ, creation and innovation is an everyday part of life. With a little help from one of our brilliant minds, creative thinkers, talented leaders or our robot, Talus, you can really do anything here.
At Zazzle, our technologies are all about turning your dreams into reality. We're tackling some of the hardest technical challenges around. And we're not only developing cutting-edge software innovations, but also never-before-seen hardware and manufacturing systems.
Our products let you... be you! We're deeply passionate about providing you with an opportunity to be yourself through customization. And we're committed to offering the highest quality custom products in the world, in an ever-expanding array of categories.
Zazzlers are a passionate bunch. And we believe that anything is possible (ok, most anything). From PhD's in mathematics to national physics champions to professional artists and manufacturing gurus... we're all over the place but united by a passion to re-define commerce.
What's Zazzle really all about? Describing our company is hard, so -- we cheated -- and made you a video instead! The punch line: we believe in a future where you can finally get exactly what you want... and make anything your own. The best part? Customization helps make our planet a cleaner place. It enables local manufacturing to thrive, which lessens shipping pollution and reduces landfills -- both rampant problems in the prevailing economy of mass production overseas. Join our community of millions and help make this future possible. And, stay tuned... we may surprise you ;-)

I worked at Zazzle full-time (more than 5 years)Pros
Last Friday was my last day at Zazzle. During my time there, I held positions in engineering, marketing, and platform. I cannot imagine having the opportunity to see so many parts of a business anywhere else. Eventually, I was given the opportunity to pitch new ideas and eventually grow a team to get them done. I cannot say enough good things about the people there at all levels.
Some of the stuff I loved:
- Internal Development: I can think of three separate people who have been promoted to director level at Zazzle who started as junior members. One started as a shirt presser and worked into a senior management position in marketing.
- Great Engineers: The technical talent I worked with was among the best I ever met. They have engineers to do not just implement, but also improve products as they are being built
- Fun Culture: The office environment is open and friendly. Thursday happy hours, comp lunch (and dinner if you stay late), on campus gym, beautiful views of the bay from the building.
- Transparency: Senior execs are very open with priorities and progress. I never felt like I did not know how we were doing as a company.
- Opportunity: As I mentioned before, I joined as a manager and was given the opportunity to increase responsibility multiple times in my five years. We hired a lot of new people and I got to see a lot of people earn shots and new jobs in their existing departments or in othersCons
I do not really know what to see here. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Zazzle and the only things I would write as cons feel too nit-picky for me to mention.RecommendsPositive OutlookApproves of CEO

I applied through college or university. The process took a week – interviewed at Zazzle.Interview Details
Phone interview with a Zazzle Engineer using an online code-sharing site. Didn't get far due to my inability to answer the first question about recursion. The interviewer seemed to have high expectations about getting syntax right. Question was introduced word by word rather than just giving a function prototype, which is annoying since it had a lot of parameters.Interview Questions
