We work hard but believe we’ve had great success because we also have fun together. From summer picnics in Golden Gate Park to our annual holiday celebration, we celebrate our successes outside of the office with teambuilding events during the year.  The culture of macys.com San Francisco is as interesting and fun as our people. Our You Count Committee (YCC) works year round to create an inclusive and dynamic work environment.

Our Make Magic recognition programs allow employees to recognize their peers throughout the year. We provide each person with a portal page where they can send thank you/congratulations notes, tell a story to recognize others or acknowledge a milestone. We also have annual, quarterly and “on the spot” recognitions.

One of our most popular initiatives is It’s Your Time Summer Hours program that allows employees to leave as early as 1 p.m. on Fridays during the summer season. It begins the Friday before Memorial Day and continues through the Friday before Labor Day.

Our Partners in Time volunteer program has been recognized nationally, receiving the Points of Light/Hands On Network “Award for Excellence in Workplace Volunteerism.” This is a grass roots program that allows employees to decide where to apply their time and energy in giving back to the community.

    Pros

    work-life balance, very generous sick leave policy, generally very well supported in terms of what you need to get the job done. decent base salary.

    Cons

    not much growth in some areas compared to some others. different teams have very different promotion speed. some degree of politics are unavoidable. only directors or above gets bonus. very bad medical insurance

    I applied online and received an email the next day to set up an interview. They asked about 10 standard interview questions. The interview lasted about 30 minutes then they told me they filled all of their open positions but would "put me on the bench" incase anything else opened up.
