Pros
tips, scrap metal, if they're throwing it out its yours, meet cool people everyday, loss weight, stay in shape, find neat stuff.
Cons
Hard work, long hours, no hours, being on one side of the county then having your next job on the com pleat other side of the county, your always in a rush, no prof sharing, no health care, dangerous work sites, hazardous work sites, no vacation or vacation pay, no breaks
Pros
- Free Junk
- Meet rich people
- Drive a dump drunk
- Learn how to craigslist sell
Cons
- Poor pay
- All Physical labor
- Demeaning work
Advice to Senior Management
Company has a great concept, better pay to the employees, with better benefits
Pros
microwave in cafe for lunch
Cons
Gossip is bad for business, morale, and communication.
Advice to Senior Management
Listen to the inputs of Small Franchises. Stay consistent with enforcement of standards. Stop preferential treatment.
Pros
Got Junk offers 4 weeks holiday in the first year and 5 weeks after that. They believe in a work life balance that makes it easy to stick around for a while.
Cons
The opportunities for growth at the head office are limited due to the fact there are only about 50 employees
Advice to Senior Management
Spend more time understanding who our competitors are and how they are affecting the business of junk removal. Secondly build more comprehensive marketing plans based on learning more about the competitors.
Pros
You are constantly lifting and working out so you tend to stay in shape.
Cons
On the road all day lifting heavy things and then driving to the next location to do it all over. Generally its overly repetitive. The services in my mind are overpriced and from talking to current employees they have stopped the profit sharing which was the only perk to the days where you work LONG days sometimes 7am-7pm or later. Once worked 7am-10pm
Pros
Great work environment
Fun atmosphere
Excellent bonus opportunities
Good management
Great job for anyone who is willing to work hard
Cons
Hard work
Long days
Sometimes no work (not full time if people aren't scheduling appointments)
Tiring being on the road so much
Advice to Senior Management
Don't overhire -- I'd rather see less employees but working 40hr/wk than see few employees working 20-30hr/wk
Remain positive
