    Pros

Good camaraderie and good place to meet people who share your interests. Casual working environment and can be a fun company to work for if you are a student in high school or college. If you are looking to climb the corporate ladder, there are also many opportunities to do so.

    Cons

Employees are underpaid and micromanaged. Cookie cutter mold for a corporate company and even if you get a raise, it will only be 25 cents. Even the managers are underpaid unless they are the club manager.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees more equally. Communicate clearly without sounding like you are on a power trip. Figure out where your employees want to go with their careers and help them get there.

    Pros

Free membership, get to know your neighbors and community. Learn more about fitness and great way to get your foot in the door for health and fitness careers. Room for growth.. if you choose to pursue it.

    Cons

The company is focused on expanding customer service and its global network but neglects employees. Managers have incentive to push their employees to reach sales goals so they can get bonuses. Service representatives deal with the brunt of the complaints by members and it's not worth the 9-10 an hour. The systems in place for personal trainers and membership sales reps is not conducive for them to maximize their income. They are sales commission based, but the manner in how you must acquire clients and membership sales benefits your club, fitness, and service managers more than the actual trainers and membership representatives.

    Advice to Management

Become more team oriented, claiming team values doesn't make it true. Look at the constant job openings happening at 24 hour fitnesses across the nation, it's staggering at how much turnover the company has at the base levels of job opportunities (service representatives, membership representatives, personal trainers). Unless you get into management at a club level or find yourself in the corporate level of the company, it's not that great of a job. But like I said, great way to find your foot in the door. *Side note: my ratings are based off representative positions, not management. I just graduated after working for the company for a year and 2 months and instead of pushing for my way up the company I'd rather find a different path into the health and fitness industry* Also the new CEO Mark Smith is just entering his 2nd year... so hopefully he can turn the company around.

    Pros

-Free gym membership -Employee discount on products and personal training -Coworkers are nice -Mostly fun job of hanging out with children -Possible to get promoted... but not within your own club

    Cons

-When I was hired I was told that it would be no problem getting me 30 hours a week. It almost never happens and they keep hiring new people and cutting everyone else's shifts. -There's a HUGE turnaround rate -The pay is minimum wage -Isolated work area

    Advice to Management

Don't promise hours that you can't deliver on
