I worked at 3E Company full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Smart and friendly colleagues
    Flexible work schedule
    Work-life balance
    New technologies to work

    Cons

    No transparency with management
    Less pay
    Poor project management process
    No motivation to work
    Not so great benefits
    No career growth

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

First and foremost thing to work on is the project management process. I would have liked the management to be more transparent with me. I understand that this is a small company but the overall process has to be improved a lot.

I worked at 3E Company full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Many people are nice in person. The company seems open to training employees in new skills and considering experience that is not direct to the position but could be transferred.

    Cons

Departments are at war with each other and do not cooperate at all. Throwing other people under the bus is the norm. This makes it very difficult to get work done efficiently as many tasks require cross-department cooperation. Surprisingly, many of these people seem like they are normally perfectly nice, but spending an extended time at this company appears to acclimate employees to an atmosphere where hostility and lack of respect for coworkers becomes the norm. HR appears to be aware, but seems to be unable to fix the situation, probably because of management. At least one person in upper management regularly publicly chastised and criticized their team, and I saw at least one person walked out with their belongings. This reminded me more of a high school lunch yard than any other place I've ever worked, complete with a pack of "mean girls" in administration that treated everyone with contempt.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Instead of team building activities, this company needs to look closely at personal dynamics between employees and departments. Unfortunately, real change will probably require counseling or disciplining individual employees about unacceptable conduct toward others. Some of these employees are in management or have worked at 3E for an extended period and are regarded as or feel that they are entrenched and/or irreplaceable.

I worked at 3E Company as a contractor for less than a year

    Pros

Friendly and helpful immediate co-workers (just don't ask outside your department). If you like saying 'Yes', working unnecessarily long hours, watching your bosses come and go like the wind, this is the job for you!

    Cons

Higher turn over than a McDonald's. Nice office design does not cover up the fact that this is a boiler room environment for every department. Each department hates the other, this failure to work together comes from the top down, each department operates as like a High School clique. No one tries to change it because the CEO will change them.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The Board of Directors should be there longer than 1 hour for a closed door session. Nothing in the reports will give them the actual knowledge they can gain by working within the company. Stop blaming the environment and blame yourself; You have 'Yes' men giving you report and you never cared enough to find out more. The CEO is NOT a leader; he's a salesman. Nothing more.

I have been working at 3E Company full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good Job Security, flexible hours and work from home opportunities. Easy 8-5.

    Cons

No advancement, no career path, variable experience in 'senior' possitions, underpaid.
The criteria to qualify for promotion is not documented and appears to be 'at whim'. Personel issues have forced 'warm body' hiring in which some people are not as well qualified as they should be. Business strategy is focused on volume and direct revenue, little or no money/time for skill or process development, product development, training, or QC.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Spend some time in product development with the people that actually know what they are doing. And allow time to train personel.

    Pros

While the company once led the way in the marketplace, they are losing their edge and are adrift.

    Cons

High turnover in sales and over promise on earnings. It makes for a troubled environment.

    Pros

Management very supportive, company encourages furthering your education. Offers a lot of employee appreciation events, like bringing in Starbucks baristas, chair massages, etc.

    Cons

I worked 3rd shift, which occasionally made communication with the day shift problematic.

    Pros

Great people to work with and supportive team environment. Bethesda office has more promotional opportunities than Carlsbad HQ and is at higher salary scale. Management treats the employees professionally. Flexible working hours to balance work and family/social life.

    Cons

Senior executives may not communicate clearly. More transparency in company's goals and visions may be necessary. Limited promotion and advancement within the company depending on what your position is.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More transparency in company's goals and visions. More monetary compensation for extra achievements.

    Pros

Great people, great culture, and competitive salary and benefits

    Cons

Limited room for growth in some of the departments. You will want to stay with the company because the people there are so great, but at the same time you might feel forced to leave because of the limited advancement opportunities.
