    Pros

    Cons

Very fast-paced. Some assume you know what you're doing, so make sure to ask lots of questions if you don't understand something.

I worked at 42West full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    Good client roster, free gifts.

    Cons

Horrible work-life balance, very little training, extremely stressful, verbally abused by publicists, get no lunch break (which is illegal), barely have time to go to the restroom, hours are way too long, incredibly understaffed and underpaid for how much work there is, you have no life if you work in the talent department here.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire more and new employees, see above.

    Pros

    - Working with people who are among the most respected in the business
    - Opportunity to gain great experience and build a strong network of contacts

    Cons

    - Somewhat of a lack of company culture in an industry where that could be valuable (since work is fairly high-stress)

I worked at 42West full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Great employees, flexible hours (in respect to doctors appointments/family emergencies/time off), Relaxed dress-code, summer Fridays

Overall, I enjoyed the working environment and the people I worked with on a daily basis.

    Cons

The company fails to have a clear vision and comes off as being desperate for business and in practice more often than not. There were few opportunities for personal learning, growth or advancement (and no real job titles to prove it). Each division is pitted against one another rather than working together to serve a client; it ends up being more competitive.

Salaries were not competitive as compared to other agencies/firms

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more transparent with all levels of employees and not just upper levels. Treat all divisions equally and give them all the same advantages/support.

    I worked at 42West full-time

    Pros

Some of the top names in music and film are their clients, so the projects you work on are ones that have an industry impact. That's always an exciting and rewarding feeling. This will also help you grow to new levels of personal and professional development.

    Cons

Like all companies with high-profile clients, there will be stress and long hours. Sometimes when you'd rather be working on other projects/clients.

I worked at 42West as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

Working with an agency with a good reputation
Being able to put on my resume that I worked with 42West
Met a couple of interesting people along the way

    Cons

There was no real direction given to me as a freelancer
Seems as though the team that I worked with was a little bit scattered
The head of the department was in the loop on everything going on in the division but didn't really trust anyone to do their job or obtain a lot of knowledge about the clients

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take a look at how the head of departments work with their teams
Allow your teams to be fully immersed in their clients
Trust your employees to do their jobs but be clear on direction
