Co-workers were interesting to work with.

    Cons

You'll hear the same songs on loop, because you get 1 CD per month.

It was sometimes great and most of the time awful!!!!!

    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee
    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

    Pros

    - in the past, lots of creative freedom
-in the past, you were able to actually use your brain and make decisions based on your stores needs, volume, merchandise, and customers and communicate that with HO and upper management.-
-in the past, you weren't micro-managed
-in the past, most of the time you were told"Great job" if you exceeded expectations or went above and beyond

    Cons

-Upper managment has NO IDEA how to actually manage people. They need to take a managment class. Yes, there are a lot of women that work in these stores. WE have voices and ideas!! People need to be treated with respect. Having your old grumpy male DM complain on the sales floor about another employee is so unprofessional and rude. I feel bad for the owners of this company, because they have a lot (not all) of horrible people representing them.
-Pay is horrible and geting worse.
-Family/work balance, there is no such thing. If you have no life, this company is for you.
-There is no innovative thinking. While competitors are thinking of ways to get ahead in a stuggling economy, this company has not changed at all!! The buying, promotions, store layouts, and policies have not changed in years. Oh, except the vacation policy which actually got worse.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Start with this" Treat people how you would like to be treated."
Everything I wrote above, was for people currently researching this company.
I've tried for years to contribute ideas to this company. Why would I waste anymore of my time to give this awful company advice. LEARN TO RESPECT PEOPLE!!!
