Pros
they had great benefits, they will gonna train you well to be ready at work. friendly staffs. and i really enjoyed working at seven eleven.
Cons
its a minimum pay but really great benefits. sometimes you need to extend an hour to finish your job assignment.
Advice to Senior Management
seven eleven is very nice place to work. especially on training new employees they did great. keep up the good work
Pros
- Friendly work atmosphere
- Convenient office location if you're not out in the far suburbs
- Full Bonus paid almost every year
Cons
- The difficulty of your work and effort you put in will be taken for granted
- A lot of hand-wringing which leads to last-minute decision making
- When that last minute decision making fails to produce results, the finger pointing begins
Advice to Senior Management
This company needs a FULL image makeover - others have done it, you can too. I'm not talking about redoing the floors and brick and coffee bar. THE ENTIRE BRAND needs a new and fresh appeal.
Pros
Excellent training and promotion process.
They give you the tools to be succesfull are provided but you have to use them.
The opportunity to be well compensated is based on your individual performance.
The opportunity to learn how to run a business and promote is unlimited.
Cons
The only Con I can think of is the Company as a whole has really forgotten their most valuable asset. This is the Customers and the Sales Associates. It used to be all about the employee and the customer. Due to the economy, they have made cuts that really cost the customer. Sales associates are no longer offered good benefits and the pay rates are a bit below competitive.
Advice to Senior Management
Just to remember who really signs the paychecks and that is the customer and your employees.
Disgruntled employees do not make for a well run company.
Pros
Flexible schedule and minimal stress if you're a chosen favorite of a market or zone manager, at least on the west coast. I didn't need my degree to do this job, but I was one of the fortunate few and finally sailed on.
Cons
Merchandising goals change by the day, BT was a bust, lack of clear direction is a known, too many conflicting financial reports (that never match) and favorites of a market manager or the zone manager stay on board even though their performance is average (at best) while valuable FC's are removed.
Advice to Senior Management
"Going back to basics" and "accountability" is preached to the stores, but not practiced within the company. Incorporate this into your executive management and organizational decisions, even if it means eliminating current management heads in place. Remember the definition of insanity?
Pros
Teamwork, Communication, support salary, benefits.
Cons
Long hours, job never done, retail is ever changing, dealing with disgruntled franchisees
Advice to Senior Management
Work closer with franchise owners, understand difference in management style, define success more broadly.
Pros
Paid holidays are nice, especially since you will get stuck working them anyway. Moderately flexible schedule.
Cons
Unrealistic sales goals and time restraints. Micro- management. poor employee training.
Advice to Senior Management
The best way to make a dissatisfied worker is to give them unrealistic goals and to not trust them with real responsibility.
Pros
-interactions with customers
-free 7-eleven refreshments (coffee, soda and slurpee fountains)
Cons
-rude managers
-very low pay for overworking.

Advice to Senior Management
Get it together...seriously!
Pros
Low stress work environment. Profitable.
Cons
Lack of clear direction, lack of accountability, performance review process is a farce and solely up to the whims of your supervisor, long tenured employees who are opposed to change and new ideas, stagnant.
Advice to Senior Management
Provide employees with clear direction and then support them. Stop playing the blame game. Management needs to learn how to lead, make decisions, and stop passing the buck.
Pros
The pay is comparable, but the nonsense of robberies and employees is not worth the headache
Cons
Field Consultants are very mismanaged and have no idea how to run a store, therefore are unsuccessful at demanding a standard of operation from their managers
Advice to Senior Management
Hire Field Consultants and train them properly. The mid atlantic Liberty Zone has poorly trained and operationally inept management
Pros
OK compensation and bonus when goals are met
time off is usually not a problem
good customers and staff
flexible scedule
Cons
extreme hours worked. 55 to 70 hours a week and still not finished all of the work required
Daily negative communications from senior mngt
All about hitting the numbers or else!!!
Advice to Senior Management
Remember that the employees and managers are people and take care of them and in turn the numbers will reflect that. In the past few years it has only been about numbers and every year customers are leaving and not returning. Think about it.
