Pros
a paycheck. They rent your time. Recognize this aspect of it and you will do just fine. As they franchise they need fewer and fewer corporate employees.
Cons
constant downsizing leaves corporate people out. If a more efficient placement service could be developed, it would give the employees more confidence.
Advice to Senior Management
Value the corporate employees and they will give you value back. they are your strongest asset. Ignore them and the company will not succeed.
Pros
Great benefits for corporate employees, diverse customer pool, always something to do/ never a dull moment. Friendly staff and management. Proficient training.
Cons
Repetitive work days. Not the best salary. Not a lot of opportunities to advance in the store. Not always the best customers.
Advice to Senior Management
Allow employees more freedom to improve their work days. Offer a more competitive working environment to grow the desire to advance beyond simple 'Sales Associates'
Pros
Fun environment and friendly staff. I would recommend to anyone who wants to be store manager or own their own business.
Cons
Long hours and can deal with a lot clients that are not friendly. Sometimes you do not feel safe working.
Advice to Senior Management
Long hours and can deal with a lot clients that are not friendly. Sometimes you do not feel safe working.
Pros
Praise is given when deserved. Excellent place for advancement, but expect to put in long hours as needed. Average about 55 on a typical week. As with every employer, there is room for improvement within the senior leadership, but there are some great folks already in place.
Cons
Work life balance can be challenging, but it is your responsibility to manage. Some managers are more understanding than others when it comes to taking necessary time off (sick kids, etc).
Pros
not bad. free coffee and good employees
Cons
low-paying when starting or when entering as new employee
Pros
Shift work makes it easier to work multiple jobs. You would have to have other jobs because they're always cutting hours. They usually cut hours at Christmas, just when you need them most. If you don't celebrate Christmas, then you won't mind working every single one. Expect an inspection on Christmas if you work in a company store. Instead of dropping by to cheer up the loyal and hardworking people who are trying to work short-handed, they show up and do an inspection to highlight all the things that they say are wrong and then complain and threaten everyone.
Cons
allow other employees to abuse you
work every weekend and holiday forever
promised raises regularly but did not deliver
no advancement
expect you to do the work of 3 people
never stop criticizing
always cutting the labor budget
Pros
benefits, and management willing to give you the time off when you ask for a specific date.
Cons
Management lack of leadership and people skills. Very busy during shift 1, don't have time to take a break. Forget lunch! No break area for employees you have to either go in the small back room which is a bad idea because your break can be easily interrupted or go outside the store and just stand in the parking lot. Not allowed to go in your Car to take a break. Too many rules imposed by the management, rules that i have never seen written coming from 7-eleven policies.
Advice to Senior Management
Treat employees with respect they will last longer. If employees like their job and are happy they will provide excellent customer service.
Pros
You're in charge of managing and stocking items around the store. As well as helping customers with whatever they need.
Cons
The only con is the customers that are very unsatisfied. They may become aggressive for the smallest things but throughout it all, you have to maintain a positive attitude and solve the problem inmmediately.
Advice to Senior Management
I don't believe I am fit to give advice to the management or have anything that I wanted to say.
Pros
Free Slurpees. There is nothing else good about this company.
Cons
Long hours, few benefits, no opportunities for advancement unless you want to be a Franchisee. Very low pay as compared to similar positions.
Advice to Senior Management
Stop trying to fill your own pockets and distribute some of the wealth to lower division workers.
Pros
Get experience running multiple unit operations and get understanding of the useful tools and systems they are the best in retail industry.
Once you know how to implement on store level and have understanding of Retailer Iniative. You can get another opportunity better salary in no time with another retailer.
If you have military background you can go far with company.
Will have flexibility with schedule to maintain quality of life.
Great learning environment.
Good people to work with it.
Cons
No growth in local area have to relocate to Dallas.
Meetings are a waste of time.
Company focus constantly changing
Operations is backbone of company but those that run the company have no experience in operations so there is a disconnect with the field.
Lack of diversity in leaderhip.
Elimination of 401k matching
Reduced bonus structure
Advice to Senior Management
Reward tenured team members that perform and you won't keep losing key personal to the completion. Having tenured consultants making less than new employees that don't know the system does not build strong teams.
