I have been working at 7-Eleven

    Pros

the regular customers you get to know on a personal basis

    Cons

physical, mental and emotional stress endured daily, rude self entitled customers, no work/life balance whatsoever!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

to franchisee owners-appreciate & compensate your old fashioned, hard work ethic employees with fair LIVING wages, do not think you are mentally superior to your employees

I have been working at 7-Eleven full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Store managers have a great level of flexibility in shaping the type and level of inventory they carry unlike many other similar businesses where "corporate"designs and chooses a one- size-fits-all store product line from afar without the slightest understanding of customers needs.

    Cons

Unless you are good at sucking up to top management, you have no chance of making it anywhere. KPI generally means how close you are to this person or that, numbers don't mean a thing. Store employees are treated like disposables. If you are looking for a place to work where you are valued as a contributor or as a piece of a puzzle that makes a great company, this is not the place.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

When you walk into a store, please have the common courtesy to greet the cashier behind the register before you start pointing to the things that are out of place. That's very disrespectful to say the least.

Scatter-brained set of priorities. No support from your boss.

I have been working at 7-Eleven

    Pros

    Car. Every day is different.

    Cons

People are promoted for the sake of being promoted. Some promotions do not "fit" the employees strengths and thus cannot flourish. Bosses tend to have one of two management styles. One prominent one being "manipulative."

I have been working at 7-Eleven full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

The best thing of working here is the experience you can obtain. You get to learn every aspect of running a business. Will benefit you when searching for employment with other companies within the field.

    Cons

No work/life Balance for Store Managers. Salary does not compensate for the amount of work and responsibility corporate store managers have to endure. Poor communication between District Management, FC's, and store managers. They don't tell you in the interviews that it is a 24/7 job. Even when you are not in the store working, you are working because employees will call, FC's will call, or you will have to pull double shifts for call outs, etc....

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Increase salaries to match level of work.

    Cons

The managers can be a little annoying once in awhile. They will assign you lots of works and expect you to get it done by the end of the shift.

    Pros

Pending on the manager I have a set schedule, I get over time where available. Pay and benefits are amazing!

    Cons

The new uniform policy. I've been there 5 years, I was hired in with tattoos and with in the lest few weeks have been covering them up, due to the new uniforms.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Loose the uniform pants and tattoo coverings. You say you want individuals then change everything so we are all the same.
