I worked at 7up American Bottling Company full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

The work is diverse and no two days are the same. There are allays opportunities to learn things. The benefits are very good. The Executive Leadership team is one of the best I have worked for. I love the community giving they do. Like partnering with a non-profit to build play grounds around the United States; and the employees located near the build get to spend the day building a play ground. Absolutely awesome.

    Cons

Leadership at the branch level depends on the skills and behavior of that lead manager. The range of capabilities goes from excellent to not so good. I imagine other corporations have similar experiences. There are very few thanks or even encouraging or motivating words. The style of communication is at times destructive to moral and takes focus away from the business.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Provide your branch management team with some real leadership skill training. I don't mean what is available on DPS Campus. Some need more than that.
Have a team audit the culture that the leadership asks us to manage by, to look for variations in success. Find a way to help those that are struggling. Remember this was a purchase of a lot moving parts and very diverse in skills and knowledge.

    Pros

Pays well, but could be a little better. They promote within often. If you work hard, you can advance in a career there.

    Cons

There seems to be a high turn over here. People either get fired or quit quite often. This makes it hard for the company to get continuity with servicing our customers. We tend to have to work behind someone who have does his/her job, making it a little frustrating at times.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try to listen to the concerns of the employees more. They are valid. Pay hourly to encourage thorough work. Do more training, and provide more help on heavy delivery days.

    Pros

You get Health insurance on the first day of hired. GM is very supporting, Good co-workers and hard working co-workers. You mostly get the weekend off.

    Cons

If you happended to have some bad accounts around the area, you will be making little money. Working from 0530 AM to at least 6 PM. Since you are on the route all the time you got to eat out and mostly fast food. That is money spending and fat. 12 hours of driving which might involve safty.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make sure your employees get paid decently.
