I have been working at 8x8 full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Dynamic, fast-paced environment with nearly limitless opportunity for motivated employees and managers. Market leader in many areas. Despite the current success, management remains open to suggestion and you find that most have an open door policy. Many employees at 8x8 have progressed from entry-level support positions into high-level and Sr. positions without having to job shop. Motivated individuals who produce results are recognized and compensated accordingly.

    Cons

Despite the success, there are some areas where the company has opportunity for growth and could use an injection of fresh talent from people with an outside perspective. This is not crippling, and presents great opportunity for people who have varying opinions, perspectives, and experience, to shine.

Profitable and stable company. Always seeking to be the leader and an innovator in the industry. Employees do not fee micro-managed. Work smart and play hard culture. Rewards top performers.

    Cons

Management is not necessarily pro-active in training and coaching employees to go to the next career level.

I have been working at 8x8 full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Exciting growth, home grown products, management listens and responds, lots of employee feedback is fueling what we do and how we do it.

    Cons

We push you to excel so if you aren't ready, you need to move on (or you will be helped out). Like most companies, not everything is perfect, but the compny recognizes this and attempts to get better quickly.

    Advice to Management

Keep setting the pace. Keep getting ideas from tech industry leading companies. The cultural task force is a great idea.

    Pros

The new CEO has made a big difference. While not perfect, the company culture has really improved

    Cons

Too much consensus decision making. Management should be allowed to make their own decisions without getting the input of everyone in the building.

    Advice to Management

Let your managers manage and hold them accountable for the results.

I have been working at 8x8 full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Exceptional collaboration and innovation with co-workers who are phenomenal to work with, competitive pay and benefits. Management team is very accessible. Weekly company wide lunches and on-site fitness instruction speak toward the positive cultural changes happening.

    Cons

-Sick time is part of PTO/vacation time -With so much growth and innovation, it's easy to get caught up in a project and lose a little bit of work-life balance, but that's usually self inflicted

I have been working at 8x8 full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The industry is growing and 8x8 is seeming to carve out their niche. Overall, the job provides a challenge and a decent compensation + benefits package.

    Cons

8x8 has been through several org changes in the past few years so it helps to be aware that your role may change along with it...more than once.

    I worked at 8x8 full-time

    Pros

The UCC technology offerings are great, it is up front in their business. Great products to deploy for any medium size company.

    Cons

One department is still in its infancy of development although the managers have been there several years. The department is reactive and not proactive. Lack of written training or a developed documented plan of progression for juniors and seniors. Training is done by show and tell. Documentation is often outdated, I found a document that pertained to their previous location several years ago. Group is driven by a boys club environment.

    Advice to Management

    fix it.
