    I worked at 99 Restaurant & Pub full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good tight knit company. Met the president. Genuinely seems to care about management. Decent benefits, pay and work culture. Company does a lot for and is genuine about community fundraising. Food is OK, not great, but decent with some homemade product. Mostly frozen and boil in the bag stuff. Chicken tenders are breaded and fried to order, and are some of the best out there, chain or otherwise.

    Cons

As most corporate, very clique driven. If you kiss enough butt, you can do better than those who work harder. Was shown how to follow certain corporate procedures, only to see them repeatedly broken to make numbers in a training store. Managers cheat the system often for bonuses. Lot of hourly employee turnover. Overall though was a good experience, corporate is mostly the same everywhere and my negative experiences are pretty much standard in most corporate environments. It's for some people, not for others.

    Advice to Management

Treat hourly employees better, most are miserable. Stick with food that is more your style, stop trying trendy items that are outside your comfort zone, because they usually aren't done well. Hold management more accountable for unrealistic numbers, a lot of cheating goes on to hit numbers, and makes the honest managers with integrity look bad.

I have been working at 99 Restaurant & Pub full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Our location has the best regular guests. The cooks work well together. The pay and benefits are above average.

    Cons

Upper management has unrealistic expectations. Many times you have to close one night and open the next. The amount of meetings scheduled on your day off or morning off.

    Advice to Management

Upper management should validate schedule to ensure you get enough time scheduled off between shifts. Well rested employees are more productive.

I have been working at 99 Restaurant & Pub full-time

    Pros

Good Manager training program. You will learn a lot about the restaurant industry if you pay attention and seek out information even after training. Leadership means well.

    Cons

Rude, snobby and cheap customers that expect the world and don't want to pay for it. Disrespectful employees who don't keep up with their appearance and treat managers bad. HR dept. is so afraid of lawsuits they take the side of employees instead of having managers' backs. Constant random updates/promotions/policy-changes that are time consuming and have small pay off. Low pay for good employees, tons of red tape for the smallest things. No room to move up, most positions are already spoken for when they open up, seniority is heavily considered for promotions.

    Advice to Management

If you put a manager in place, have their back. Stop with the extra stuff that has nothing to do with the operations.
